Sr. Staff Product Manager (Photonics)

In this role, you will be responsible for leading our product definition, rollout, and product introduction to drive design wins with the industry's top semiconductor and cloud vendors for our photonics-enabled solutions. Reporting directly to the Director, Product Management, you will work with engineering, sales, operations, finance, and the executive team to accelerate the adoption of Lightmatter products in segment-defining categories.

Responsibilities: 

• Drive product definition (MRD/PRD), SKU strategy, and commercial positioning for silicon photonics products focusing on the Passage interconnect platform, evaluation systems, and demonstration vehicles.
• Drive strategic industry partnerships to ensure the availability of key optical hardware solutions (lasers, fibers, connectors, and components).
• Manage product rollouts to lead customers and oversee complete lifecycle management from early development through volume production.
• Partner with sales to win key accounts by creating high-impact customer proposals, technical collaterals, and ROI/value proposition frameworks.
• Establish pricing guidelines, margin models, and revenue forecasts to ensure competitive market positioning and profitability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to produce high-value outbound collateral and technical documentation.
  
  

Qualifications 

• Must have detailed market and technical knowledge of silicon photonics and related optical technologies. 
• 10+years of related experience with 6+ years in product management, marketing, applications engineering, and business development roles driving high-complexity semiconductor products to volume production.
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Proven track record driving products from initial business definition through design-in, volume production, and end-of-life (EOL).
• Deep experience with datacenter-deployed technology, including the management, provisioning, operation, and maintenance of optical components.
• Comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of semiconductor chip design and manufacturing processes.
• Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to inform product and business strategy.
• Collaborative leader adept at leveraging key financial indicators and metrics to drive profitable business decisions.
• Strong communicator with a track record of aligning multi-disciplinary teams to eliminate misalignments and accelerate delivery schedules.

Preferred Qualifications 

• PhD focused on Optics, Photonics, or related advanced photonic technology.
• Proactive self-starter who excels in fast-paced environments, managing competing priorities, and taking full ownership of rapid, high-quality execution.
• Quick learner with a hands-on, "no task is too big or too small" approach to solving complex problems.
• Strong, established professional network across relevant datacenter, semiconductor, and optical industry segments.
