Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Growth Recruiting Manager is responsible for building and managing the contributor pipeline that powers Scale AI's AI data operations in India. This is a hands-on leadership role that sits at the intersection of recruiting, operations, and supply management. You will lead a team of Growth Recruiters, drive contributor activations across key verticals, and ensure the quality and throughput needed to hit India's hours and project targets.

 

This role is critical to Scale's India growth strategy. The Growth Recruiting function is a net-new, high-impact channel responsible for sourcing and activating expert contributors — coders, domain specialists, and other skilled professionals — onto Scale's Outlier platform. You will own both the team and the outcomes.



WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

Team Leadership

- Manage and develop a team of Growth Recruiters, setting goals, providing coaching, and ensuring high performance

- Build team capacity to support India's expanding contributor pipeline across coding, expert, language, and multimodal verticals

- Create a high-accountability, results-driven team culture focused on activation quality and throughput

 

Contributor Acquisition & Activation

- Oversee end-to-end recruiting of contributors onto the Outlier platform — from outreach and screening to onboarding and first activation

- Get hands-on with sourcing when needed, directly using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and community platforms to build pipelines

- Develop and refine sourcing strategies tailored to specific contributor profiles (coders, experts, specialists)

 

Quality & Platform Standards

- Ensure contributors onboarded by your team meet Scale's quality bar — reviewing profiles, credentials, and early performance signals

- Partner with project and quality teams to monitor contributor performance post-activation and close feedback loops back to recruiting

- Maintain compliance with platform onboarding requirements and contributor verification standards

 

Supply Management & Target Ownership

- Own contributor supply targets for India across multiple active projects and initiatives simultaneously

- Forecast supply needs based on project demand, ramp timelines, and attrition; proactively address gaps

- Work closely with India operations leadership on weekly and monthly hours targets, escalating risks early

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Allocations, Onsite Ops, and project leads to align supply with demand in real time

- Contribute to India-level planning and strategy discussions on growth, quality, and operational expansion

- Support the rollout of new verticals and initiatives as India's scope expands (Experts, Languages, Multimodal)



WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

Required

- 8-10 years of recruiting experience, with a strong track record of high-volume or technical sourcing

- Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms (job boards, community platforms, referral networks)

- Proven experience managing and developing a recruiting team

- Strong ownership mindset — comfortable setting targets, tracking performance, and being accountable for outcomes

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pipelines and projects simultaneously

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

 

Preferred

- Experience recruiting in tech, gig economy, or platform-based workforce environments

- Familiarity with contributor or freelancer onboarding processes

- Experience working with quality or operations teams to close loops on post-hire performance

- Prior experience at a high-growth startup or technology company

- Exposure to AI, data labeling, or RLHF platforms is a strong plus
