Job Description
About Liquid AI
Spun out of MIT CSAIL, we build general-purpose AI systems that run efficiently across deployment targets, from data center accelerators to on-device hardware, ensuring low latency, minimal memory usage, privacy, and reliability. We partner with enterprises across consumer electronics, automotive, life sciences, and financial services. We are scaling rapidly and need exceptional people to help us get there.
The Opportunity
Our People team runs lean by automating everything that can be automated. What remains is the human work that keeps a fast-growing company running across the US and Europe: lifecycle changes, HRIS and EOR vendors, benefits, immigration logistics and workforce data, and it grows with every hire.
You'll own that work end to end, working closely with our People leadership, Finance, Legal, IT and the Ops Tech team that builds our internal tools. This is a hands-on operator role, not an HR business partner role: the job is making sure every change is touched once and done right.
This role will be based in our SF office, with expectations of 3-4 days in office.
What We're Looking For
We need someone who:
Closes loops without being reminded: You track every open item to be done and keep following up with vendors and colleagues until it actually closes.
Runs independently and escalates well: You make the calls you can make, and when you're blocked you come early with a proposed path, not just the problem.
Improves what already exists: You care about the experience employees get, and you tighten processes and data quality before reaching for a new tool.
The Work
Own employee lifecycle changes, from contractor conversions and EOR moves between countries to salary changes, leaves and probation, so HRIS, payroll and downstream systems stay correct
Administer our HRIS (Rippling) and run HRIS, PEO and EOR vendor issues through to resolution
Run benefits operations, including open enrollment and fast, accurate answers to employee questions
Keep headcount and workforce data accurate across our ATS, HRIS and internal operations platform for leadership reporting
Coordinate immigration logistics with outside counsel, and prepare comp and cost analysis
Document repeat processes and partner with Ops Tech on what should be automated next
Experience & Capabilities
What you'll need:
Exceptional attention to detail: you get records, letters and changes right across systems and countries, and you check your own work before it reaches employees, payroll or leadership
Experience personally running core people operations end to end (lifecycle changes, HRIS administration, benefits, vendor management) at a startup or scaling company, without a large team behind you
Hands-on admin experience with a modern HRIS such as Rippling or Deel, including payroll and benefits data
A track record of keeping many multi-step cases moving at once and seeing each through to completion
Strong spreadsheet skills: comp models, cost calculations and headcount reporting
Helpful, not required:
A background in payroll, finance operations, legal operations or paralegal work
Experience with EOR providers and employees in multiple countries, especially the US and Europe
Experience coordinating US immigration cases (H-1B, O-1, green card) with outside counsel
Familiarity with Ashby or another modern ATS
What Success Looks Like (Year One)
Every lifecycle change, vendor issue and benefits question is owned and closed by you, and workforce data is accurate across systems
Leadership trusts your headcount and workforce reports without re-checking them
Core People Ops processes are documented, and issues reach leadership early, with options
What We Offer
Own the operations, not the busywork: Our People team automates the repetitive work, so your time goes to the judgment-heavy, multi-country operations that keep a fast-scaling AI company running.
Compensation & Equity: Competitive base salary plus equity, so you share in what we build. Final offers reflect skills, experience, and location.
Time Off: Unlimited PTO, plus company-wide Refill Days, long weekends when the whole company rests together.
Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive health coverage, with details varying by location.
Paid Leave: Paid leave for pregnancy, parenting, medical needs, and caring for family.
