ABOUT THE JOB

Tactical Effects is the team at Anduril dedicated to delivering decisive advantages to U.S. and Allied forces. To counter new threats from autonomous systems, our products like Bolt, Anvil, and Ghost are rapidly scaling in production to meet urgent customer demand.

At Anduril, we are building a factory for the next life of the product. As the Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Remanufacturing, you are the architect of this critical sustainment operation. You will build a world-class program from the ground up to rapidly service, upgrade, and return fielded assets to mission-capable status, turning our aftermarket operations into a strategic advantage.
This is a leadership role where you will define the vision, build the team, and own the entire production system for fielded hardware. You will create a fast, efficient "reverse factory" that processes everything from warranty claims to assets damaged during field demos. This is a leadership role where you will define the vision, build a team of 4-5 engineers, and own the processes for our entire service and remanufacturing operation. You will be empowered to make business-smart decisions that balance speed, cost, and quality, turning our reverse logistics into a strategic advantage that reclaims value and drives reliability improvements in future designs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Architect Anduril’s Service & Remanufacturing program from the ground up, designing the end-to-end strategy, physical factory layout, and end-to-end material flow to support all customer and internal service needs.
• Build, mentor, and lead a dedicated team of MFG Engineers and MFG Specialists, fostering a culture of rapid problem-solving, technical excellence, and customer focus.
• Own the business and operational performance of the service line, establishing and tracking KPIs for turnaround time, cost, parts salvage rates, and overall program efficiency.
• Define the standards of service, creating the tiered dispositions ("like-new" vs. "certified functional") and partnering with Design Engineering to craft the technical quality criteria for what constitutes an "acceptable restoration."
• Own the complete asset lifecycle from intake and diagnosis, through repair and overhaul, to performing final end-of-line checkouts and validation tests that certify the system for return to service.
• Author the definitive technical playbook for remanufacturing, creating detailed teardown procedures, component-level inspection criteria, standardized rework/repair processes, and the specific Bill of Materials (BOMs) required to return assets to mission-capable status.
• Champion 'Design for Serviceability', acting as the voice of the service team by creating a robust data feedback loop to Design and NPI engineers to make future products more reliable and easier to repair.
• Drive the complete spare parts strategy, from forecasting and procurement in partnership with Supply Chain to inventory management, ensuring high service levels for all repair operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field.
• 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul), customer support engineering, or depot-level repair environment.
• 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity, responsible for a team's direction and output.
• Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on complex electromechanical or robotic systems.
• A strong business acumen with experience in cost-benefit analysis and process optimization.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to build structure in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Experience writing technical documentation, such as work instructions, test procedures, or failure analysis reports.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Direct experience establishing a repair, MRO, or remanufacturing operation from the ground up.
• Experience in a customer-facing service or support engineering role.
• Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones) or other autonomous robotics.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and direct experience with RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes.
• Data analysis skills (e.g., using Python, JMP, or Tableau) to identify and report on failure trends.
• Previously held or currently active U.S. Security Clearance.
