Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.
As a Build Technician, you’ll be supporting our development and production operations by assembling, inspecting, and improving critical vehicle components at Kodiak.
This role is based in Lancaster, TX, with some limited travel required.
In this role, you will:
- Assemble components per mechanical prints and harness diagrams.
- Perform quality inspections on parts received and assembled components.
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and functional verifications.
- Define harness routing for interior and exterior installations.
- Create, validate, and improve work instructions and procedures.
- Identify and implement workflow efficiency improvements.
- Provide technical insights and propose process improvements to enhance build quality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring work aligns with project goals.
What you'll bring:
- A strong understanding of mechanical prints, harness diagrams, and quality control techniques.
- Proficiency with measurement tools, light fabrication, and AV systems.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on commitments.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to make informed technical decisions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills—mentoring junior technicians and contributing to team hiring efforts.
- Experience in technical documentation and process development.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
