Job Description

Agility’s commercially deployed humanoids operate alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers—tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. With industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data, we're pioneering a new era of automation that enhances human potential.

About the Role

Agility Robotics is seeking a Sr Manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering (PCBAs) to lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of world-class test systems for our core electronic subsystems. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for building and managing a multidisciplinary team of test engineers, defining and executing the overall test strategy, and ensuring the quality and testability of our electronic components. You will collaborate closely with Design Engineering, System Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT), Manufacturing, and Product teams to support the entire product lifecycle—from early prototyping and NPI through full production ramp and ongoing sustaining support for released products.

About the Work

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Manufacturing Test Engineering team focused on sub-system test strategies for electronics and controls.
  • Define and drive a global PCBA test strategy across manufacturing operations, aligning with business goals for quality, scalability, and throughput.
  • Establish and oversee comprehensive lifecycle management programs for all manufacturing test assets, including standardized documentation and robust handover protocols.
  • Champion test data infrastructure and analytics, driving the implementation of real-time dashboards to enable rapid root cause analysis and predictive failure monitoring.

Operations & Infrastructure

  • Manage the fixture lifecycle, including vendor selection, calibration, and spare-parts strategy to minimize line-down risk.
  • Validate new fixtures using Gauge R&R to ensure measurement stability before production release.
  • Oversee deployment of test systems and documentation packages to both internal and supplier sites.
  • Analyze test yields and failure data to identify and drive continuous improvements in test reliability.

Team Development & Collaboration

  • Mentor engineers in best practices for electronic test hardware design and troubleshooting.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and ownership within the test engineering team.
  • Align test strategy with broader company roadmaps and operational goals.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering for electro-mechanical or embedded systems, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience building and scaling test teams and infrastructure in a high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end manufacturing test systems, from initial requirements through deployment and fleet-wide sustaining support.
  • Expertise in developing mixed-signal (analog + digital) bed-of-nails (ICT) and functional test (FCT) hardware, including custom PCB design for test interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency in test software development (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) and integrating test instruments like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies.
  • Proven ability to lead electrical and mechanical integration of fixtures, including knowledge of pogo-pin selection, strain relief, and thermal management for high-power boards.
  • Demonstrated experience with DFT tools and standards to guide hardware design for maximum test accessibility.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and EtherCAT.
  • Experience with MES integration, quality systems, and test data pipelines in production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment, lead complex initiatives, and foster collaboration across teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ATE platforms (e.g., NI/TestStand).
  • Experience using risk-based methodologies (e.g., FMEA) to define test strategy and coverage.
  • Demonstrated experience in cable harness and interconnect validation, including proficiency in testing methods for crimp verification, pull testing, and electrical continuity/leakage.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or other dynamic complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to safety-critical product testing and relevant regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other structured quality/process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with SEIT-to-MTE handoff protocols and test coverage gap reviews.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This position requires occasional hands-on work with test systems in a lab or production setting. Periodic travel to contract manufacturers, suppliers, or remote production sites may be required. The role balances strategic leadership with technical depth and operational support
