Job Description

About Anterior

Anterior is on a mission to transform healthcare administration, making it seamless and invisible so clinicians can focus on delivering care. We’ve built an AI-powered platform designed by clinicians, for clinicians, to simplify administrative workflows and improve patient outcomes. By combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge technology, we’re revolutionizing healthcare operations with responsible AI.

We're growing rapidly and are backed by world-class investors including Sequoia, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), and Neo along with notable angels including the founders of DeepMind, Google AI, and Inflection AI.

Anterior is improving the experience of healthcare for everyone. We're working on the cutting edge of using technology to make clinical decision-making frictionless.

We're building exciting tech for huge customers and we trust in the foundations: keep it simple, build strong foundations, and the rest will follow.

About the role

At Anterior, Frontier Strategists bring cutting-edge AI to life in the messy real world of payer operations. The Frontier is where our software meets that reality, and you'll own a piece of it — running complex customer implementations that sit at the intersection of clinical workflows, technical integration, and hard project management, turning innovative technology into production systems that health plans depend on daily.

You'll work hand-in-hand with AI engineers, clinicians, and subject matter experts to navigate the intricate world of healthcare administration. You'll deploy Florence, Anterior's AI-driven clinical reasoning platform, into a customer's organization by understanding their requirements deeply enough to know how to tailor it to them, translating those needs into clear deployment specifications, and coordinating across engineering, clinical, and customer stakeholder teams to deliver.

You own the end-to-end success of your deployments and can wear whatever hat is needed to get projects over the finish line: designing clinical workflows and process diagrams, writing requirements, defining testing plans, defining and managing to implementation timelines, or presenting to client senior leadership (VP and SVP+).

What you’ll do

  • Own the engagement, end to end. From initial design, through build, testing, and launch. You define what success means with the customer, then hold the line on it.

  • Turn ambiguity into a buildable plan. This is the core craft of the role. You'll take a tangle of clinical policy, legacy systems, regulatory deadlines, and stakeholder opinion and decompose it into clear requirements: functional requirements and acceptance criteria that can be directly handed over to engineering.

  • Consensus build. You get people who don't report to you to commit to a plan and hold to it — both inside Anterior and inside the client. Your job is to get them to one shared plan everyone understands and believes.

  • Go deep into the details. Clinician workflows, payer operations, interoperability standards, and the regulation coming down the pipe. You'll spend real time onsite with our customers building the kind of expertise you can't get from a deck or reading white papers.

  • Be a trusted advisor. You’ll build trust and credibility, becoming an advisor to the customer; the best Frontier Strategists don’t just successfully deliver what customers want, they help customers understand what they need and guide them on how best to get there

About you

You ideally have 4–6 years of experience in management consulting, product management, or a technical customer-facing role at a high-growth software company.

Whatever the path, that experience should have given you:

  • A delivery track record. Proven experience leading complex, high-visibility transformation programs to completion. You understand (and have directly written) a requirements document that an engineer has built.

  • First-principles problem solving. We are building net-new capabilities, so inherited assumptions have to be tested. We're looking for people who don't just know what has worked before, but can reason from the ground up about why it worked and whether it applies here.

  • Technical credibility. You can read API documentation, reason about data models and system architecture, and follow an engineering tradeoff discussion well enough to have an opinion.

  • Curiosity and empathy. You are comfortable to say “I don’t know”, but are not satisfied with that answer — you have a desire to learn and become an expert in any content domain you’re in, with excitement around how you can help transform US healthcare.

Even better:

  • You've worked in or around payers, providers, or health tech — utilization management, prior authorization, risk adjustment, HEDIS, claims, or interoperability (FHIR, Da Vinci, X12).

  • You've deployed AI/LLM-based systems into production and are hands-on with the tooling behind them: evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, retrieval, agent orchestration.

  • You've been a founder, founding team member, or early operator, and know how to balance craft, ownership, and speed.

If you do not have all these qualities and experiences, you should still apply if you think the rest of this section describes you

What's in it for You
