Job Description
About Anterior:
Anterior is on a mission to transform healthcare administration, making it seamless and invisible so clinicians can focus on delivering care. We’ve built an AI-powered platform designed by clinicians, for clinicians, to simplify administrative workflows and improve patient outcomes. By combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge technology, we’re revolutionizing healthcare operations with responsible AI.
We're growing rapidly and are backed by world-class investors including Sequoia, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), and Neo along with notable angels including the founders of DeepMind, Google AI, and Inflection AI.
Anterior is improving the experience of healthcare for everyone. We're working on the cutting edge of using technology to make clinical decision-making frictionless.
We're building exciting tech for huge customers and we trust in the foundations: keep it simple, build strong foundations, and the rest will follow.
About the role
At Anterior, Clinical Solutions Architects bring cutting-edge AI to life in the messy real world of payer operations. The Frontier is where our software meets that reality, and you'll own the clinical half of it — sitting between the nurses and medical directors who do the work today and the AI engineers building what replaces the parts of it that shouldn't exist. You are Anterior's clinical representative inside the customer, and the trusted counterpart to their clinical leadership.
You'll deploy Anterior's AI-driven clinical reasoning platform, into a health plan by mapping how their review actually happens — intake, eligibility, network check, guideline application, escalation to MD — and designing a solution against our modular platform that fits it. Then you'll translate that into language engineers can build against, and stand behind it through testing, launch, and the first weeks of real clinical users on the system.
What you’ll do
Own the clinical design of your deployment, end to end. From workflow discovery, through configuration, testing, and go-live. You define what "clinically correct" means for the engagement, then hold the line on it.
Turn clinical reality into a buildable plan. This is the core craft of the role. You'll take a tangle of medical policy, guideline sets, nurse workflows, and MD escalation rules and decompose it into clear requirements and acceptance criteria that can be handed directly to engineering.
Map workflows nobody has written down. Health plans rarely have an accurate picture of their own review process. You'll sit with their nurses, build the process diagram that reflects what actually happens, and use it to show where Florence plugs in.
Go deep into the details. Utilization management and prior authorization, guideline sets, lines of business, delegated entities, and the regulation coming down the pipe. You'll spend real time onsite with our customers building the kind of expertise you can't get from a deck.
Deliver proofs of concept fast. You'll know Florence deeply enough to configure and demonstrate real clinical value in an early engagement, not promise it for later.
Be a trusted advisor. The best Clinical Solutions Architects don't just deliver what customers ask for — they help clinical leaders understand what they actually need and guide them on how best to get there.
About you
You're a clinician. RN, BSN, NP, PA, or MD. You understand clinical terminology, patient-provider interaction, and what it feels like to be the person on the other side of a coverage decision.
You've worked inside a health plan or delegated entity. This is the piece we weight most heavily. You know how intake, eligibility, network check, and medical review actually run, and how the lines of business differ. Utilization management is the sweet spot, but adjacent depth — risk adjustment, HEDIS, care management, appeals — counts.
You're structured. Intuitive workflow maps, clean processes, and clear written communication come naturally to you. You've probably built the training material or the SOP that a team then ran on.
You love being in front of customers. Not tolerate it — enjoy it. You build relationships with clinical counterparts that outlast the project.
You have a real interest in AI. You've gone looking for how these systems work rather than waiting to be told, and you have views on where they should and shouldn't be trusted with clinical judgment.
What’s in it for you
This is an opportunity to join a company at its major inflection point, using cutting-edge technology to have a meaningful impact in healthcare. You'll work with a world-class team, hold significant responsibility, and have the opportunity to learn and grow rapidly.
